How to order Broadband from Village Internet and Broadband Ltd  - eVIB.net

 

You need to go to www.evib.net and click here to sign up for an email address either yourname@silchester.org or yourname@evib.net This will the give you an evibxxxxxx number and password. At the bottom of the sign up details click on Login. Enter the evibxxxxxx and password from the sign up details. This takes you to your account management page were you can modify details of your account. On the menue on the left click on modify under the Customer heading. In this screen you can now enter your address and phone number details, them click modify.

 

You also get a free domain name for example you could have suname.org.uk if it  is available and then have firstname@surname.org.uk as an email address and www.surname.org.uk as a web address. You can check availability at http://www.evib.net/Domain names.htm  . If they have no match then they are available.

 

To order broadband -

 

From the account management page ( you can get to this again by clicking on User Login on the top right of the main www.evib.net screen) and under Mercury Online Shopping click on Service Ordering.

 

 Click - take me to the broadband section

 

Click - take me to the home users section

 

Scroll down and add broadband for home users pay monthly or annually to cart

 

Scroll down again tick to accept terms and conditions and click checkout.

You then get the following screen

Domain Name Registration (.co.uk,.org.uk,.me.uk,.org,.net, .com, .biz & .info)

Front Page Extensions on Linux

Tick domain name if you want to have one. The ADSL USB item is the home broadband package. If you are going to use FrontPage for web design also Tick Front page extensions then click add

 

You then get a page each to complete for the domain registration and the ADSL requirements then when you confirm both these you are taken to the WorldPay page to pay by credit card.

 

 

You need to set up another account in Outlook to collect mails from your new email account.

 

To do this in Outlook go to - tools - email accounts -  tick Add a new email account next-  tick POP3 next then complete the form

 

Your name 

Email address yourname@silchester.org or whatever you have chosen

 

User name evibxxxxxx

Password   case sensitive

 

Incoming mail server - pop3.evib.net

Outgoing mail server  - the same as one of your existing accounts. This is because you can only send mail through the server you are connected to. When Broadband goes live you need to change this to smtp.evib.net

 

You then get emails confirming the order and payment. A couple of days latter you get another email with the ADSL login details and a go live date.
