First install the phone cable connection to Micro filter and to the telephone line. Then connect the USB cable to the computer but not to the modem at this point. See page 5 of installation manual for diagram.

Insert the installation CD-ROM into your CD drive. The installation should auto run. If it does not, through My Computer or Windows Explorer click on the CD Drive, open the file “drivers” and double click on “set-up” to run the installation.

You can now connect the USB cable to the modem. At this stage the USB light should be on and the link light flashing. If Windows comes up with a new hardware found dialog box click on cancel.

In the DSL provider selection panel select “PPPoA” and click next. The rest of the installation process takes a few minutes and is automatic. At the end a screen says installation is complete - click on finish.

Next go to - start - settings - control panel and click on the “Conexant Access Runner” icon.  This brings up the control panel, with the mouse hovering over the panel press “Alt A” on the keyboard to bring up the options tabs. On the top right it shows the VPI = 0 and VCI = 35. Click on the “Protocol set up” tab and change the Virtual Circuit Identifier (VCI) to 38 and click apply And then OK. The dialog box will then disappear. Close the control Panel and go back to the desktop.

At this stage the blinking LINK light on the modem should become continually on.

Next Click on the new “AccessRunner DSL” icon on the desk top. In the username enter the adslxxxxxx@adsl.minx.net.uk number and password that were sent to you in your go live date email. Click save password, leave the zeros in the phone number and click connect. This will then connect your PC via ADSL/Broadband to the server.

Next start Internet Explorer – tools – options click on the connections tab and in the dialog box.  Click on the “Always dial my default connection option”. In the options white panel click on “AccessRunner DSL” and click on set default. Click Apply and OK.

Now you can go to your favourite web site and see the difference Broadband makes.

The final stage is to update your email settings. Open Outlook – tools – e-mail accounts. In the dialog box check - view or change existing email accounts – and click on next.

You then need to click on change on each of the accounts you have and change the outgoing mail server box to “smtp.evib.net”. Then click on more settings – click connections and check “connect using my phone line”. In the modem panel scroll down the modem options and click on  AccessRunner DSL”, OK,  click next and then finish.
